30-second setup (most people can start here)

  • Stand tall in your usual shoes.
  • Relax your arms at your sides (don’t reach forward).
  • Set the grips to the wrist crease height.
  • When you hold the grips, your elbows should be slightly bent and comfortable.

Walker: step-by-step

  • Stand upright in your usual shoes. Place the walker in front of you on a flat surface.
  • Relax your shoulders and let your arms hang naturally at your sides.
  • Adjust both handles so the grips line up with your wrist crease.

Rollator: step-by-step

  • Start the same way: usual shoes, upright posture, arms relaxed.
  • Set grips to your wrist crease, then confirm a slight, comfortable elbow bend when holding the grips.
  • Make sure you can reach and squeeze the brakes comfortably without stretching.
  • Safety: lock brakes before sitting, and only sit if your rollator is designed for sitting and you’re on a stable surface.
